Meet the Board Member: Francisco!

United Way honors the community members serving on our board. Francisco Murillo is a graduate of St. Olaf College who works at the Northfield Public Library as a Bilingual Library Assistant. In Francisco’s free time he likes to spend time with friends and family and watch and play sports.

What motivates you to serve on the board for Rice County Area United Way?

Giving back to the community motivates me. Growing up in the Northfield community helped me in many ways. Seeing that RCAUW supports programs that I was in–like TORCH–or places that I went to get help, like the Community Action Center, made me realize I want to give to those places as well.

What’s your favorite place in Rice County?

One of my favorite places in Rice County is the Carleton College Arboretum. I have countless fun memories there as a kid, and still love going there to unwind and have a good time–anything from fishing to just enjoying the weather in my hammock, the Arb has been and will continue to be one of my favorite places to visit.

What excites you about United Way?

What excites me about our United Way is the eagerness this team has to help out the community. It seems that everyone is ready to lend a hand to help out.
