'United for Ukraine Fund' Established

The United for Ukraine Fund (https://www.unitedway.org/our-impact/work/no-nav/unitedforukraine) has been established by United Way Worldwide to help the million people who have fled the violence in Ukraine, seeking safety. Rice County Area United Way strongly supports this effort. We believe in supporting humanitarian efforts wherever there is need. Giving through United Way’s worldwide network ensures that a donation will reach those in need directly.

Rice County Area United Way takes no fees for donations to the fund.

Should you choose to donate, your support will be sent to help via trusted partners on the ground. United Way RomaniaUnited Way Hungary and Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw (Good Initiatives Foundation) in Poland, stand ready to aid those who have been displaced by this crisis. They are working with local partners to determine the needs on the ground and to address the immediate and longer-term relief needed for those made vulnerable by the fighting. As the crisis evolves, United Way may identify additional partners on the ground to support the needs of Ukraine's displaced.

The immediate support will cover:

·    Transportation

·    Shelter

·    Food and medicines

·    Critical childcare supplies, including infant formula and diapers

·    Hygiene kits, and more

By donating to United for Ukraine Fund, you’re supporting vetted, nonpartisan organizations on the ground and providing vital help to those who need it most. This situation is fluid and there is no doubt the needs will be great and will continue for some time.

Thanks for caring about your neighbors in the world,

Elizabeth Child, executive Director
